SAIC Motor's H1 sales grow 12.4 percent to 2.053 million units

On July 1, SAIC Motor announced impressive sales performance for the first half of 2025, reporting a total vehicle sales volume of 2.053 million units from January to June, marking a-12.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

In June alone, SAIC Motor achieved sales of 365,000 vehicles, a 21.6-percent year-on-year increase, contributing to a six-month streak of consecutive monthly sales growth. The company's end-user retail deliveries reached 2.207 million units, showcasing a positive trend in both production and sales.

SAIC Motor's focus on reform and innovation has paid off, with its "new three-driving-force" — self-owned brands, NEVs, and overseas operations — steering substantial progress.

Sales of SAIC Motor's self-owned brands soared to 1.304 million units in the first half, reflecting a 21.1-percent year-on-year increase and accounting for 63.5 percent of the company's total volume, up 4.6 percentage points from last year.

The NEV sector has seen particularly strong growth, with sales jumping 40.2 percent to 646,000 units. In June, NEV sales reached 121,000 units, up 29.2 percent year-on-year.

Notably, SAIC Motor's premium EV brand, IM Motors, delivered over 6,000 units in June, with its flagship models, the LS6 and the new L6, enjoying strong demand. SAIC Motor's passenger car division sold 16,000 NEVs, a 44.1-percent increase, while SAIC Motor Maxus and SAIC Motor-GM-Wuling also reported significant gains in their NEV sales.

The overseas market, despite various challenges, showed resilience, with sales reaching 494,000 units in the first half, a 1.3-percent increase year-on-year.

SAIC Motor's global reach now extends to over 170 countries and regions, with Europe leading as a major market. In Europe, SAIC Motor's MG brand overcame adverse conditions, including anti-subsidy tariffs, to deliver over 150,000 units, achieving double-digit growth and securing its position as the top-selling Chinese brand in the region.
